Apologies from Angela Merkel

Up early and snuggly dressed to visit the German Federal Government housed within the Reichstag building famously rebuilt by Norman Foster and replaces the bombed out dome with a spectacular clear glass light well. Got the hint from our hosts to book breakfast at Kaerfer which includes access to the roof top and circular stairwell within the glass dome.

Had a sensational view and sensational breakfast once we recovered from the very serious and multi-leveled security we needed to pass through.

Boys were spoilt with a specially tailored kids breakfast including a Kinder Surprize, chocolate at breakfast will always be the type of hightlight that Easter Bunny exploits.

Our spread was wonderfully light, tasty and very German; Sekt, saft, coffee, scrabbled eggs with salmon, selection of meats and cheeses, selection of pastries and breads. Naturlich! 

Angela didn't drop by for a coffee, she is a busy person.
